Waynes Story

With more than 35 years experience working in rural, remote and urbans area's, my wealth of knowledge and extensive network of contacts, ensures the photographs and stories captured are culturally sound and considered.

Featured Artist Vivid Festival

Renowned Aboriginal artist, and cultural storyteller Wayne Quilliam takes centre stage at Vivid Sydney, illuminating the city with a powerful visual narrative that celebrates Country, culture, and connection. For the first time ever, Quilliam's evocative work was projected onto the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, transforming it into a living canvas.

Merging traditional knowledge with contemporary art, Quilliam’s projection is a striking fusion of colour, texture, and ancestral symbolism. It weaves stories of the land and its people across the steel span of the bridge, inviting audiences to witness the deep spiritual connection.

This landmark collaboration marks a historic moment in Vivid’s history — placing First Nations perspectives at the heart of one of the world’s most celebrated light festivals. Wayne Quilliam’s projection on the Sydney Harbour Bridge is not just an artwork — it’s an experience, a statement, and a celebration of Australia’s oldest living culture on one of its most iconic stages.

Waterloo Train Station

When acclaimed Aboriginal artist Wayne Quilliam was commissioned to create a culturally significant artwork for a new public transport station, his vision was clear: to create a piece that welcomes everyone.

“I wanted people of all nationalities to feel a sense of belonging and pride in our culture,” Quilliam said. “I believe deeply my vision reflects this with a visually striking piece that speaks to connection, inclusivity, and shared identity". His artwork invites commuters and visitors alike to pause, reflect, and engage with the rich stories of Country and community.

More than just a visual feature, the piece serves as a cultural bridge—celebrating Aboriginal Culture while embracing the diversity of modern Australia. Quilliam’s commitment to fostering unity through art ensures this new station is more than a transit point — it’s a place of meaning and welcome.
